Personal, fun, creative…three words that best describe the experience you will receive when you hire this Seattle family photographer.
A few weeks before your session we’ll sit down over a cup of coffee and discuss our plans for your session. To make sure this photo session is a reflection of your children and your family, we will start by going over a client questionnaire. Answers to these questions will help guide my suggestions on choosing a session location, what to wear, what to bring, etc.
During this chat, we will also dive into the reason you are hiring a professional photographer and brainstorm ways you can use your new portraits. Perhaps you want to capture those squishy toddler cheeks and envision a collection of canvases displayed in the entry way. With a pen and a pad of paper, I’ll make note of the things that are important to you so that I remember to capture them during the session.
In addition to our pre consultation chat, you will be receiving a short series of emails with helpful tips on how to make your portrait session a successful one. These topics include:
- What to Wear
- Helpful Tips for Preparing Children for the Portrait Session
- How to Showcase Your New Portraits
Getting to know you and your family before the photo shoot will allow me to look for and capture your true family dynamic.
On the day of the shoot, we will meet up at the desired location. Before I put the camera up to my face and begin the session, I may take a few moments talking and playing games with your children. My goal is for them to warm up to me quickly and feel comfortable so I can capture natural personalities.
My style of shooting is a mix between posed and candid. During the shoot, I will provide guidance with poses but will also ask for parents to give random tickles and cuddles. The portrait of everyone posed and smiling at the camera is wonderful to hang on the wall, but often the portraits that evoke emotion are the ones that capture the natural interaction between people.
Expect a comfortable and fun environment and don’t worry if we need to take a quick break for snack or simply get some wiggles out. When it’s time to refocus, I’ll be prepared with some little tricks to regain attention.
Two weeks after the photo session we will meet again for a design appointment. Beautiful, hand edited images will be presented for your viewing and together we will design a collection that showcases your breathtaking images for years to come.
To make this process simple, I will bring along studio samples of my high end products. You will be able to flip through the luxurious pages of a custom album and feel the quality of a canvas gallery wrap. My Inspire Guide will help you choose the perfect wall collection that warms your heart every morning you view it in your entry way. Being able to touch and feel the studio samples will help you visualize the stunning artwork that can be created for your home.
Ordering prints and products may seem overwhelming, but with proper guidance the process can become simplified and even fun. By the end of the design appointment you will feel confident that the prints and products you ordered will be enjoyed for years to come.
A custom experience and memories that you will cherish for years to come, that is my promise to you.
